Tomeu Bauzà has been involved in the world of cuisine for more than 20 years. He is currently the chef and owner of Factoria Restaurant.
Here he uses everything he has learned and experienced in the conception of a creative and surprising form of signature cuisine. However, at the stove, Tomeu flees from dishes that are marked by technique.
Factoria is about ego-free cuisine in which everything is hand-crafted. They bake their own bread every day, and are probably doing so while you are reading this...
Tomeu studied specialised cuisine at the UIB. He has undergone diverse further training in the field of gastronomy. He began working as a kitchen helper in hotels with Riu, Proturhotels, Hipotels, then eventually reaching renowned restaurants and country hotels on the island including Rotana, Son Amoixa Vell, Son Floriana and Fetget. He has complemented his work with stages in various restaurants boasting a Michellin star: Akelarre with Pedro Subijana, Mugaritz with Andoni Luis Aduriz, Es Casals with Oriol Rovira and family, Paco Morales and several trips to Japan under the tutelage of Katsuhito Inoue, chef and friend.
Thanks to all of these people and places he acquired the skills and expertise he employs in order to surprise his customers.
In the year 2015 Tomeu began his personal project alongside his wife Vanessa Rodríguez, who is in charge of the dining space into which Factoria’s flavourful cuisine developments are born out.
"A culinary creativity factory", that is how one might define Restaurante Factoria.
The final ingredient of Factoria is, simply, the thorough care and tenderness with which the preparation and presentation of its dishes are carried out; the attention and the service that our visitor receives, the fine aesthetic details that bring about a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere around the guest…
Eating at Factoria will be an experience you will enjoy not only with your palate, but with all your senses.
The restaurant was inaugurated in December 2015 and is located in the centre of Manacor with a signature cuisine concept. Its menu and gastronomic range is continually redevised, always surprising its customers.
Offering a broad array of wines, the establishment is inspired in the industrial design style, in tandem with its name, with the aim of offering a highly creative experience to dining guests.
Along with the interior design of the space, it features an outdoor terrace with a truly privileged view over Manacor’s city centre, especially at night time.
